It heats quickly & has enough power to quickly return to the correct temperature after each waffle. It's heavy enough to supply the right amount of pressure on the batter & browns evenly. The cord wrap underneath is quite handy for storage - I wish more appliances had this feature. It does get quite hot on the outside, but the handles stay nice & cool. The bell that rings when it's heated to the correct temperature & when the waffles are ready is a big plus. The shipping was much faster than anticipated - less than a week. But it's obvious that if you slide the only adjustment knob to the right its cook longer than if you slide it to the left. Beside the ink wiping off, it's the best waffle maker I've used. I even have two of them. One is a Belgium style and this is the thinner style. Both are great!! I will actually make a large batch of waffles and throw what I don't eat in the freezer for later use. They are just as great out of the toaster. Though, I do recommend buying a drying rack or using your oven if you like crispy waffles.
