We purchased our DeLonghi after sampling ice cream made from my Sister-In-Law's Cuisnart machine. Nice fresh ice cream unlike the old days where you had to manually crank a handle...and the results were mixed at best.
Comparing the DeLonghi to the Cuisnart....the DeLonghi is much quiter. And that is a big plus when you have visitors who you don't want to be disturbed and want to entertain. Also the texture of the ice cream is better.

Replying to another customer review appearing for this machine...it DOES make treats with milk and skim milk. All without all the preservatives you will find in over the counter frozen treats from stores. ...

Our first batch didn't turn out great...but it was related to not being familar with our new machine. Ever since...success.

The secret to making a firm treat is to mix your ingredients beforehand and freeze/refrig before adding to the ice cream maker. Add it to the machine and let it work away. Then if you prefer a firmer treat, freeze further for a few hours to overnight.

Another suggestion is to buy the Ben and Jerry ice cream guide. It also states the innovation which I just mentioned above...and gives you many other helpful tips which will solve any issues you might encounter.

Gelato, Sorbet, Ice Cream, Smoothies. All came out well.

I bought this for the holidays but will use it all year. Pancakes for a crowd? Grilled cheese for a crew? This baby will handle it. It is Cook's Illustrated #1 pick for a reason.

With a huge surface, easy to clean, steady and reliable temperature you can turn out continuous batches of good hot foods. Forget the wimpy panini press! You can make eight hot grilled sandwiches at once using this great appliance.

I highly recommend this griddle.

This is a really great, heavy duty grinder. will be very good when all the garden stuff comes in this year, or when I'm ready to make sausage.
only downside it that the ads (and the delivered documents) picture a "two legged" grinder that clamps on the counter (like Mom used to have). the product delivered is a "four legged" cylinder that I'll have to screw to a board and then clamp that to the counter. Bit more inconvenient. But it's #1 quality, make no mistake about that.

I can't tell you how disappointed I was with this Continental CE23711 Waffle Maker & Sandwich Grill. First of all, it was a month late in arriving and was purchased to replace a similar old Black and Decker unit that had grills that were deteriorating. This new unit was so flimsy that the inserted grills kept popping out because the whole unit was bent out of shape. I would have returned it but my husband had discarded the box after checking to see if it would heat. I felt like throwing it away because my old unit was so superior to this one but my daughter switched some of the fasteners around which hold the 2 plates in place and that worked but the unit must be handled carefully - a really disappointing purchase!!!

After extensive research, I bought this for my family of 7, and have found it convenient and easy to use! Other reviews said it was hard to clean, but I have found with other waffle makers that there is no real need to run water over them. I just wipe off the outside and any oil that has dripped out, and it's ready for the next Saturday morning family breakfast! Stands nicely and doesn't take up much space in pantry. I spray Pam before putting the batter in, and I've never had a problem. I highly recommend this waffle maker!

Within one month the hinges broke on this waffle iron. The company relplaced it and the hinges broke again in about two weeks. this time my husband repaired it by replacing the plastic hinge wiht steel bolts. Six months later while using it a flame came out the back. We threw it away.

This is the worst waffle maker I've ever owned. It doesn't cook evenly no matter the setting. If you like your waffles uncooked and doughy in the middle - this is the griddle for you!!! Truly, keep looking!! This isn't worth the space Amazon gives to it!!!

...My wonderful old Toastmaster unit failed after 12 years of regular "waffling." Bought the Farberware unit because of outward similarities: round waffles, chrome exterior, darkness control, ready light. However, the Farberware unit can't cook a waffle evenly, if at all. Mine burns it in the center and leaves the outer area uncooked. This is after I put it on the darkest setting. On the middle setting (which is touted as giving golden waffles), waffles were white and uncooked in middle, even when left in unit for a longer period. I've experimented and can't find any way to get good results. This one's going back, and I guess I'll keep looking!

This made great quesadillas. Quick and was easy to clean. But the warming cover is obnoxious and keep flopping open. After a couple months of use the latch (which did not close/open easily) broke.
